Since 1978, The Children’s Place has been Kansas City’s trauma treatment center, serving the mental health needs of young children ages eight and younger who have experienced traumatic events such as abuse, neglect, violence, or the loss of a loved one.

As a national leader in children’s mental health, The Children’s Place provides early intervention, play therapy, and education that help children heal and thrive. Their mission is simple yet profound: to restore childhood and give kids the chance to lead healthy, happy lives.
