Topic: District Governor Amy Chinnery-Valmassei
We’re excited to welcome Rotary District 6040 Governor Amy Chinnery-Valmassei to our club!
Amy has been a Rotarian for more than 15 years and is a member of the Rotary Club of Lee’s Summit. She has a special passion for Youth Exchange, community service, and the connections that make Rotary such a powerful force in our communities.
During her year as District Governor, Amy is traveling throughout District 6040 to get to know our clubs and members, celebrate the work Rotarians are doing, and see firsthand how we are Creating Lasting Impact.
Youth programs are Amy’s favorite part of Rotary—especially Youth Exchange. She values the camaraderie and meaningful community impact Rotary creates through local service projects, including stocking Little Free Libraries and partnering with local nonprofits. The eradication of polio is a Rotary cause embraced by her entire family.
Amy is married to Scott, and they have two children. Daniel, 27, is a PhD candidate in Physics at Virginia Tech. Annica, 23, graduated from Davidson College with a B.S. in Chemistry and is pursuing a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Florida.
Water sports run in the family. Amy is a former world record holder in two disciplines of show water skiing. She is also a Senior Judge of Show Water Skiing, has judged multiple national competitions, and has been selected to judge the World Championships in September 2027. Daniel and Annica are retired NCAA Division I springboard divers.
Teaching is another of Amy’s passions. She is a Registered Yoga Teacher, leading three to five classes each week on her patio, weather permitting. During the summer, she teaches waterskiing and sailing.
Rotary is at the heart of Amy’s commitment to service, connection, and community. She is excited to spend this Rotary year traveling throughout District 6040, getting to know its clubs and members, celebrating the work they are doing, and discovering the many ways Rotarians are creating lasting impact
in their communities.
We look forward to welcoming Amy!

The Rotary click goes on a pedestal in the center of the area. The waterfall feature will be in the "U" shaped indent in the wall in the foreground.
Completion with landscaping is projected for about October 31, 2026

Boo Ball - Rotary Club of Lee's Summit
Greetings Rotarians,
As you plan your fun fall activities, you'll want to be sure to include Lee's Summit's newest signature event - a Halloween-themed costume party at Green Street on Friday, October 30. If you made it to LS for any of the Futbol Friday watch parties, you already know what an electric venue Green Street is, and with it decorated spooktacularly for Boo Ball, it's going to be an epic evening!!
We chose downtown for our location intentionally, as our club and our sister club have been committed to our community for decades. Our mission of service above self plays out as we tend the Rotary garden close to the train tracks, conduct quarterly street cleanups in the downtown corridor, and host our happy hours at downtown establishments. In short, we LOVE our downtown community. So please, get your tickets, come spend some time in our charming downtown district and then party the night away with us at Green Street!!
Get your TICKETS HERE, and if you're interested in sponsoring, we'd love to include you that way as well (please use the contact information below). We hope you'll join us to eat, drink and be scary!!
