Volunteer with Parkville Rotary this Thursday!

Our next day to help at the food pantry is this Thursday - September 17.  We will be unloading the Harvesters truck and then stocking shelves.  The truck arrives around 7:30 AM.  We should be done in about and hour.

SPEAC is located in the lowest level of Parkville Presbyterian Church, Highway 9 entrance.  Please park on the east side of the parking lot (facing the Park U fields), to give the truck plenty of room to pull up alongside the building.

Come join a happy group of volunteers and help make a difference in our community!  Friends and family, of all ages, are welcome.

If questions, call or email Steve Bleish, 816-868-6697 or drsvbleish@aol.com.

Parkville Rotary Plaza Status Update
Parkville Rotary Plaza construction is moving along on schedule. The photo included in this note was taken Monday late afternoon Sept 14th, which shows the circular stone parameters of the Plaza, and the foundation beginnings of the pedestal that will hold the Rotary Clock in the center of the area. The water fall feature enclosure is visible on the distant wall of the area, in which parts of the water fall have begun to be installed.

In preparation for moving the Clock from its current location, this coming week some landscaping around that pedestal will need to be removed so that it's base and electronics are more accessible to servicing prior to the move.

Construction of Parkville Rotary Plaza is estimated to be completed about October 31st, weather permitting.

Status provided by Dave Rittman.

Boo Ball - Rotary Club of Lee's Summit

Greetings Rotarians,

As you plan your fun fall activities, you'll want to be sure to include Lee's Summit's newest signature event - a Halloween-themed costume party at Green Street on Friday, October 30. If you made it to LS for any of the Futbol Friday watch parties, you already know what an electric venue Green Street is, and with it decorated spooktacularly for Boo Ball, it's going to be an epic evening!!

We chose downtown for our location intentionally, as our club and our sister club have been committed to our community for decades. Our mission of service above self plays out as we tend the Rotary garden close to the train tracks, conduct quarterly street cleanups in the downtown corridor, and host our happy hours at downtown establishments. In short, we LOVE our downtown community. So please, get your tickets, come spend some time in our charming downtown district and then party the night away with us at Green Street!!

Get your TICKETS HERE, and if you're interested in sponsoring, we'd love to include you that way as well (please use the contact information below). We hope you'll join us to eat, drink and be scary!!
