The Annual Parkville Rotary Snowflake Dinner will be at Café Des Amis, 12 Main Street, in Parkville on January 10, 2026 5:30 PM.

Volunteers Needed for the Flag Program!
Rotarians,
We have set work days to re-varnish old flag poles and repair or relace old flags and finials plus adding 130 new flags and poles! This is a major undertaking, but necessary to keep our flags looking good. A good number of volunteers have already signed up to help.
To review, here are the dates and directions to the work site in the Park Underground.

We plan to start at 8:30 AM. Each day.
Directions:
Enter Park University at the south entrance, by the waterfall monument and sign on Highway 9. Stay right, going uphill, you will see the MacKenzie entrance to the underground to your left. Go down the ramp into the underground. Follow the road around, it curves left, but you make NO left hand turns. When you pass the Distillery (on your left), you know you are on the correct path. Look on the right hand side for number markers on the pillars. You will make a right hand turn up a short ramp between pillars 338 and 340. Our work space and parking areas should come readily into view.
A big thanks to Park Underground Facility and administrator Jack Larkin! We use the temperature controlled work space at no charge.
Also, volunteers are needed to move ~250 flags from Meyers Funeral Home to the work space in the underground. We need probably 2 or 3 vehicles (truck, van, or large SUV to accommodate the 8 ft flags. And probably 4 or 5 volunteers for loading and unloading. No aluminum pole flags, please. This would be on the 26th, AM.
If you have flags in your garage, please bring them.

Operation Full Plate: United to Fight Hunger
Rotary District 6040 is excited to launch Operation Full Plate: United to Fight Hunger — a friendly competition between Zones 30 & 31 to make a measurable impact on food insecurity while creating opportunities for engagement and membership growth. The contest is running NOW through Jan. 10, 2026. We know all of our clubs work hard on this area of focus - food insecurity. So, let's see how our District can unite to serve others!
How it works:
Clubs choose any hunger-focused service project(s): food drives, fundraising, volunteering at pantries, meal packing, etc., then report their impact to their Districts. Your lead contact for Operation Full Plate to collect this info is Kandi Kos (that's me!). Please use the attached spreadsheet to track your members' progress. You do not need to calculate your club's points - the Zone leaders will handle that. At the conclusion of the campaign, I will report D6040's totals.
Points Earned
1 point per food item donated
1 point per dollar contributed
1 point per public image activity
3 points per Rotarian volunteer hour
5 points per non-Rotarian volunteer engaged
Parkville Rotary Club is currently at 40 points currently if the club reports points as WSKF Architects, Dalyn's company, had eight employees pack bags for Feed Northland Kids last Friday.
