Parkville Rotary Results in Operation Full Plate Sponsored by District 6040
Below are the results of our Club's efforts in the Rotary District 6040 challenge regarding food needs in previous newsletters.
It was a short timetable to plan for food related donations and events to help out the Community, but our Club had previously set aside funds to do so in our annual approved Charity budget.
While we could not count the already planned upcoming Feed Northland Kids - Rotary Social on the 27th at the National (it was out of the program period which ended Jan 15th) -- we were able to cut checks totaling $5,000 of funding for 5 Non-profits that provide food for persons of need within the Community. They were:
$1,000 checks were provided to the following non-profit organizations:
St Vincent DePaul (St. Therese Catholic Church, North)
South Platte Emergency Fund (Parkville Presbyterian Church)
Synergy Services
Parkville Living Center
Feed Northland Kids
TOTAL: $5,000
The Feed Northland Kids check, while already approved and cut, is to be presented next week at the National.
One other item of interest on this subject … all left over food from the weekly Parkville Rotary Club meeting lunches is gathered up, and donated to the Parkville Living Center, who uses it for under privileged and persons of need. Thus nothing from our lunches goes to waste.
Thank you as always for all you are doing for Rotary.
