Topic: Livestrong Program

Sarah Srock is the Program Director II at the Platte County Community Center South Y. She has been with the Y for more than 16 years and has spent the last 4 of them for the YMCA of Greater Kansas City Association. Her and her husband have three wonderful daughters, ages 9, 7, and 5, who keep them very busy. They live in Platte City, but spend most of their time at sporting events - cheering or coaching the girls.

As a family, they enjoy spending time with one another and their extended family as often as they can. They are currently living the life of chaos as their nights and weekends are planned for them, thanks to their active children! As a family, they enjoy taking adventures, especially if it takes them to the beach! As for Sarah, her favorite hobbies include learning, coaching softball, and running just to name a few.

Sarah's topic is Livestrong at the Y, a 12-week evidence-based program for adult cancer survivors. It is a program that helps cancer survivors reclaim their health and well-being following a cancer diagnosis.

Also Speaking Friday...

Linn Mills from Rotary District 6040 is the Foundation Dinner Chair for 2022.  She will be giving us a brief update on this year’s fundraiser dinner.  She will be recruiting members help in obtaining items for the Silent Auction.

ROTARY DISTRICT 6040 - 2022 FOUNDATION DINNER

Rotary District 6040 will hold its annual fundraiser on November 5, 2022. The success of this event is determined by donations from vendors and sponsorships.
The District is the governing body of 56 individual Missouri Rotary Clubs. The Clubs are constantly looking out to find opportunities to service local communities, address our country’s needs, and help the underprivileged internationally as well as locally. Rotary volunteers are working non-stop to eradicate polio, stop illiteracy, supply safe drinking water, purchase shoes for orphans of the world, and much more. “Service Above Self” is the motto that all Rotarians endeavor to practice.

This year there will be a live auction to help raise funds for the Rotary Foundation. The auction proceeds will enable the 56 Rotary Clubs within District 6040 to provide assistance to their local and world communities.

Please consider donating an item or gift card/certificate to this auction to help local communities and the world.

Thank You for your consideration.

District 6040 newsletter...
Check out the October district newsletter when it comes out soon.  There is supposed to be a story in it that was sent in by our club. :)

Hurricane News...
Lee and Carol Burgess have a Florida condo near the Sanibel Causeway which was damaged and not usable to access the island.  Their condo was not damaged. A lot of damage near them though.

Jim Weir, a past member and past President, and his parents both have homes in Punta Gorda, FL. They reported minor damage.  Extensive damage to their town.

They were both very lucky.
