Topic: Social Chat/Networking Hour

Please join us for a Social Chat/Networking Hour with your fellow Parkville Rotarians. There will be no formal program/ speaker. We hope to see you there!

COVID-19 UPDATE: Parkville Rotary has been meeting virtually since mid-March due to the pandemic.  Our club will continue to meet virtually until the Parkville Rotary Board determines it is again safe for our members and guests to meet in-person.

HYBRID MEETING COMING NEXT WEEK!

Starting April 23rd, Parkville Rotary is going hybrid!

A hybrid meeting is one that is virtual and in-person so if you want to connect into the meeting via Zoom, you will still be able to do so.

We will be meeting at:

Central Bank
8401 NW Highway 45
Parkville, Missouri 64152

Many thanks to Rotarian Debbie Hopkins who offered up the lower level of her bank's building.  Lunch will NOT be provided but those who are interested in bringing their own sack lunch are welcome.  Clean up is the individual members' responsibility.

Masks are required and social distancing is encouraged.

Once we hear that Park University is open to visitors again we will go back to our regular meeting place in the Underground/Park Distance Learning Center.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic our holiday fundraising event has been cancelled. This year has been extremely challenging for many charity organizations including our own.  Any and all donations are very much appreciated!

LARRY LUNDSFORD IS COMING TONIGHT

To all District 6040 Rotarians,

Our district will be represented well Monday, April 12.  Our very own Larry Lunsford will give an inspiring presentation on Shoes for Orphans Souls as we approach the 20th anniversary of this event!  If you have never heard the Victor...Victor story, you won't want to miss this opportunity.  Also featured is our very own John Gill, Don Gladhart, Authur Manser (GSE trip team leader from Australia) and a video cameo from Kenny Harris (aka a truck driver for the caravan).   In any event, if you or your clubs want to get inspired for the 20th anniversary of the Shoes For Orphans Souls project...then please sign up for this one hour event.  It is going to be fantastic!  You can register at EWIRotary.com to hear Larry and your fellow District 6040 Rotarians speak on April 12th at 6:00 CST.

I look forward to seeing you there,
Julie McCoy
PDG District 6040

EVERY ROTARIAN EVERY YEAR (EREY)

Your gift to the Annual Fund helps Rotary clubs take action today to create positive change in communities at home and around the world. Your contributions help us strengthen peace efforts, provide clean water and sanitation, support education, grow local economies, save mothers and children, and fight disease.

The Every Rotarian Every Year (EREY) initiative asks every Rotarian to support The Rotary Foundation every year. In addition to contributing to the Annual Fund on a regular basis, members are encouraged to get involved in a Foundation project or program.  This can be accomplished online via My Rotary or just search for The Rotary Foundation and the "Give Now" box.   A goal which many set for themselves is $100 per year.  It may be more or it may be less.  Let's try for 100% of our club to give something.

At the end of every Rotary year, contributions directed to the Annual Fund-SHARE from all Rotary clubs in the district are divided between the World Fund and the District Designated Fund, or DDF.  At the end of three years, your district can use the DDF to pay for Foundation, club, and district projects that your club and others in the district choose. Districts may use up to half of their DDF to fund district grants. The remaining DDF may be used for global grants or donated to PolioPlus, the Rotary Peace Centers, or another district.
