Parkville Rotary Board Meeting
Our next Parkville Rotary Board Meeting will be held on Friday, May 2 at 10:30 AM at the Parkville Living Center (prior to our regular club meeting). Board Members - please let Michelle Sparks know if you can attend or not.

Mark your calendars for the Rotary District 6040 Conference, taking place May 30-June 1, in Kirksville, MO. This annual event brings together Rotarians, community leaders, and guests from across the district to celebrate achievements, foster collaboration, and inspire future initiatives.
The early fee period for the District Conference has been extended through THIS SATURDAY, 4/19! Everyone who signs up by Saturday will get the conference fee of $100, after which it will go up to $125.
What is the District Conference? A gathering of Rotarians (and partners are welcome!) from across all of the clubs of the district to share ideas through Rotary breakout sessions, to have fun and build relationships through fellowship time and social events, dynamic speakers and programs (including PDG Duane Benton, PDG Cassy Venters, and A Candle Against the Dark, a play about the force against the darkness to fight polio), the Shoes for Orphan Souls Roll Call, a literacy service project, a concert by grammy winner Rhonda Vincent, Rotary updates including from the Council on Legislation and District Governor-elect Jodi Sundaram, celebration of the Legacy Campaign for Rotary's Endowment Fund, and more.

#36 INTERACT
Interact, the Rotary youth program, was launched by the RI Board of Directors in 1962. The first Interact club was established by the Rotary Club of Melbourne, Florida. Interact clubs provide opportunities for boys and girls of secondary school age to work together in a world fellowship of service and international understanding. The term, Interact, is derived from "inter" for international, and "act" for action. Every Interact club must be sponsored and supervised by a Rotary club and must plan annual projects of service to its school, community and in the world.
Today there are over 7,200 Interact clubs with more than 155,000 members in 88 countries. "Interactors" develop skills in leadership and attain practical experience in conducting service projects, thereby learning the satisfaction that comes from serving others. A major goal of Interact is to provide opportunities for young people to create greater understanding and goodwill with youth throughout the world.
