On Friday I would like to cover the Rotary motto “Service Above Self.” First with World Polio Day being on Saturday the 24th and the City of Parkville proclaiming it (thanks to Dalyn for getting this organized) and encouraging all citizens to join the fight for a polio-free world. We are “This Close” to the eradication of Polio. Next, I'll speak to what Rotary has accomplished and the goals of District 6040 PolioPlus for 2020-2021. Finally, a look at 2020’s Rotary District 6040 Virtual Shoes Roll Call. It’s a great show of the work that is done for this cause and it really shows what a great job Robert Kersey does - and all those who help him - in handling our Clubs part in the program.
Lee McLain, President of Parkville Rotary
COVID-19 UPDATE: Parkville Rotary has been meeting virtually since mid-March due to the pandemic. Our club will continue to meet virtually until the Parkville Rotary Board determines it is again safe for our members and guests to meet in-person.
World Polio Day - October 24th
Last night during the Board of Aldermen meeting Mayor Nan Johnston proclaimed Saturday, October 24th as World Polio Day in Parkville. Dalyn Novak accepted the proclamation for our club and thanked the City of Parkville for being good partners of our club.
Thank you City of Parkville and the Board of Aldermen!
Online Invoices Coming Soon!
The Parkville Rotary Board has been looking into online invoices through ClubRunner. We intend to start sending out invoices by email to save time and money. We will be sure to notify everyone before the first online invoice goes out so you can look for it.
Snowflake Party - Cancelled
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic our holiday fundraising event has been cancelled. This year has been extremely challenging for many charity organizations including our own. Any and all donations are very much appreciated!
