TOPIC: Parkville Rotary Slate of Officers & RYLA Speaker

Annual November Nominations for Board Positions

At least one month prior to the annual meeting held during the 1st weekly meeting in November for purpose of election of officers, the Presiding Officer shall present the nominating Committee’s slate of officers in nomination for approval by members of the club for President, Vice-President (President-Elect), Secretary, and Treasurer. The slate of officers may be proposed by a nominating committee or by members from the floor, by either or by both as a club may determine. If it is determined to have a nominating committee, such committee shall be appointed as the President may determine with the President-Elect being Chair of said committee. The nominations duly made shall be read in September or October and shall be voted for at the annual meeting on the 1st regular weekly meeting in November.  The candidates for President, Vice-President (President-Elect), Secretary, and Treasure shall be declared elected to their respective offices when affirmed by a majority of yes votes at the annual meeting.  The candidate for President-Elect shall be the President-Nominee and serve as a Director for the year commencing on the first day of July next following the election, and shall assume office as President on the first day of July immediately following that year.

RYLA Speaker: Sage Butler
Our speaker will be Sage Butler,  a student who attended RYLA.   Sage is a standout student at Blue Springs South High School, where he's maintaining a 3.97 GPA and challenging himself with courses like AP English Language and College Algebra, with graduation anticipated in May 2026. Beyond academics, Sage is deeply committed to community service: He's volunteered with youth services at New Bethel in Kansas City since 2023, building connections with children and supporting educational lessons. As an A+ Tutor at local elementary schools, he's helped young students boost their reading and math skills, even leading hands-on STEM activities. Sage also gained practical experience as a retail associate at TJ MAXX, where he excelled in customer service and team training. In his free time, he's an active member of the Symphonic Orchestra since 2019, part of the theater make-up crew, and a student at Monarch Strings Studio.

Celebrate World Polio Day with the City of Parkville

Please join us on Tuesday, October 21 at 6:00 PM at Parkville City Hall as the City of Parkville presents a Proclamation for National Polio Day to our Rotary Club.

This is a special opportunity to showcase Rotary’s continued fight to end polio and highlight the impact our club and Rotary International have made worldwide.
We are honored that our District Governor, Jodi Sundaram, will also be in attendance.

Let’s show strong support from our club by being present, wearing Rotary Shirts and pins, and standing together in the community.
Hope to see you there!
