This Week's Program: August 25, 2023
Topic: Midwest Transplant Network

Nichole Asquith is the Community Engagement Coordinator.

Midwest Transplant Network (MTN) has been connecting lives in Kansas and western Missouri since 1973. As a federally certified, not-for-profit organ procurement organization (OPO), we work with organ, eye, and tissue donors, their families, hospitals, and other professional partners to extend legacies, provide hope and give life. Together with our partners and volunteers (“Ambassadors”), we are dedicated to increasing awareness and education about the need for organ, eye and tissue donation.

Our Mission: Saving lives by honoring the gift of organ and tissue donation with dignity and compassion

Our Vision: Leading organ and tissue donation through excellence, quality and partnerships

Parkville Rotary Donation to Maui

The Parkville Rotary Board recently passed a motion to donate $300 to Maui for relief efforts after the wildfires. The board is working on setting up a way for additional donations to be made online. Checks and cash can still be given to Joe as well if you are interested in donating.

Parkville Rotary Sign Upkeep CORRECTION

Parkville Rotary's street signs have all been cleaned up along Hwy 9 and Hwy 45. There are only two signs, not three. The club is looking for someone to take over this as their personal project for future cleaning. This task only needs to be completed once or twice a year.

If you are interested please let Bob Stone (rd_stone@icloud.com) or Dalyn Novak (dnovak@wskfarch.com) know. Thanks!

The Annual Foundation Dinner for 2023 is now Foundation HOOP-la!

There are two goals for this event:
1. To celebrate our championship spirit and the accomplishments of our clubs’ work in the community, and
2. To raise funds to support our future District and Global grants for our 57 clubs and Rotary’s global work.

Whether you attend each year, OR have never been to our celebration, click here for all the details about the event: https://tinyurl.com/2023-Foundation-Hoop-la

Please take these four key actions:
1. Save the date for Saturday, November 4 from 6-9pm.
2. Register for Foundation HOOP-la 2023. Registration will open soon.
3. Dig into your closet for your best pair of sneakers and dig out your favorite team jersey (basketball or otherwise). The event is very casual!
4. Consider donating an item for the silent auction and a bottle or two of wine or whiskey for the wine/whiskey pull. We’ll have both a silent and live auction during the night. Could you help by donating an auction item? Information on donating items will be sent out soon.

If you have any questions, please contact Frances Reddis, HOOP-la Committee Chair, at: freddis2014@hotmail.com or 816-853-3256.

I look forward to seeing you on November 4th!
