Numberous Volunteer Opportunities in April! We Could Use Your Help!
April 16 Thursday at Parkville Presbyterian Church
We will help unload the Harvester truck and restock the shelves for the South Platte food pantry. Lower level, Highway 9 entrance. Please park on the Highway 9 side of the parking lot, to give truck plenty of room. Truck arrives at 7 AM or a little after. Should be finished by 9 AM. Please invite friends or family.
April 18 Saturday at English Landing Park
We will be doing maintenance work on the 3 butterfly gardens that we put in last year (mostly weeding). Wear your work clothes and maybe a spade for digging weeds. Start at 8:30 AM, should last an hour or two, depending on our turnout. Please invite friends or family.
April 23 Thursday at parking lot of the old KMart on Prairie View
This is the culmination of district wide project, "Shoes for Orphan Soles" . With our donations and Joe Carroll's diligent work, we have collected over 900 pairs of shoes for Guatemala. We will be loading shoes onto a truck, the district-wide "Shoe Caravan". KCI Rotary Club will also be participating. Meet at Joe Carroll's house, 17910 Farley Hampton Rd Platte City Mo 64079, at 8 AM to load shoes onto pickup trucks, then 8:30 in K-Mart parking lot to transfer shoes onto the bigger Shoe Caravan truck.
April 24 Saturday at English Landing Park
We still have openings for helping at Parkville Micro Brewfest. We will be selling t-shirts and koozies. This is a fun event that we have helped with the last few years. Typically a beer sample or two can be had. We have needs for the 1 to 3 PM shift and the final shift, 3 to 5 PM. Please invite friends and family.
May 9 Saturday at English Landing Park
Under the guidance of Mark Stuhlhatz and Ryan Lawn and Tree, we will be planting another butterfly garden near Farmer's Market. This will be at 11:AM, as there are other events scheduled earlier in the park.
May 19-21 Fly the Flag
