No Program This Week - HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Parkville Rotary would like to wish you and your family a Happy New Year! 2021 is sure to be better than 2020!
COVID-19 UPDATE: Parkville Rotary has been meeting virtually since mid-March due to the pandemic.  Our club will continue to meet virtually until the Parkville Rotary Board determines it is again safe for our members and guests to meet in-person.

HELP NEEDED: Victims of Waldo Apartment Fire

An email sent from Randy Steinman to his fellow club Rotarians and then shared on Facebook:

Dear Plaza Rotarians

You may have see news about the apartment fire last night in Waldo. Thirty families were displaced. They are in need of everything.

Someone has started a collection drop off at St. Elizabeth's Parish 2 E. 75th St, KCMO 64114. Drop off is at Seton Hall at the church (see attached screenshot of the social media post.)

If you have spare clothing (especially winter clothing), bedding and/or small utensils please gather then up and take them to Seton Hall. (As they start the process of applying for various assistance programs, I'm sure PPE would be needed as well.)

I am unaware of any monetary collections at this time.

I don't know about the rest of you but I have been a little frustrated with how the pandemic has hampered our ability to be of service to our community. This is an opportunity for me to help right in our club's backyard while maintaining proper distancing and other protocols.

I hope you will join me.

Please contact Randy directly if you have any questions regarding his email.  We have not had good opportunities this year to really get out and help our community the way we are used to due to the pandemic.  This would be a great way to end the 2020 year!

THEY ARE ALSO LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO HELP OUT TODAY

St. Elizabeth Catholic Church
2 E 75th St, Kansas City, MO 64114

Volunteers will be needed to accept donations, sort items received, and help families collect needed items.  All volunteers will need to wear masks.  If you are free to volunteer, please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!

To all 6040 Rotarians:

I want to make you aware that Judie Klinginsmith passed away this morning. Judie is the wife of Ray Klinginsmith.

Many of you know Judie and Ray from District Rotary events. For those new to Rotary, Ray was Rotary International President in 2010-11. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Kirksville.

When more is known about arrangements, I will let you know. Please keep Ray and family in your thoughts and prayers.
