The mission of Northland Therapeutic Riding Center is to improve the quality of life for persons with diverse abilities and needs through equine assisted activities.
Cindy Sahl, Volunteer Coordinator, has 3 children and has been married for 11 years to her husband, James. She is originally from Liberty, but moved to Smithville 4 years ago and LOVE the small town. She worked in Finance for 12 years, volunteered for NTRC for 2 years and fell in love. This is her 3rd year as an NTRC employee and she loves it!"
Shaney Othic is the Executive Director of NTRC and has been for the last 2 years but started as a volunteer 7 years ago. She is a single empty nester with 2 beautiful grown daughters living in Houston, TX and Maryville, MO. In her spare time she loves live music, thrift stores, cooking, and of course - horses and her goats Bert and Ernie:).
Cindy and Shaney will be talking about their mission at NTRC, who they serve, how they serve them, and their upcoming events (horse show and Evening of Hope).
August is having hot weather, so we are moving indoors to Nick & Jake's in Parkville for our social on August 18th, 5:30pm-7:30pm. Join us for food and social time in the Tower Room!

Let the club know that I shipped the books to the “Study Buddy” project in Livingstone Club in Zambia. I found a reasonable freight company and we found district funds to pay for the shipment. They are shipping via ocean freight so it will be 8-12 weeks before they get there.
There ended up being 350 pounds of books! I packed them all up in eight boxes.
You Parkville Rotarians are the best. Thank everyone for this fabulous donation.
NOTE: These books were brought to the club by Derby Juez-Perez a few years ago and were rotated between local schools before they were donated with Mark's help.
