Past Chairperson Carla Barksdale will be with us Friday to tell us about the Banneker School Restoration Project.
The school was named for Benjamin Banneker (1731-1806), an African American who sought after knowledge in many areas, as well as fought for the freedom of his race. He was an extremely intelligent individual, most notably teaching himself about astronomy and producing several publications on the subject. Join us to learn more about this historic school located here in Parkville, Missouri.
Please mark your calendar for Saturday, April 22! We need volunteers to work the Parkville Rotary Retail Tent.
This is a wonderful event for The Parkville Mainstreet Association. Kelly Putnam the Executive Director for the Association will be leading this great fundraiser. Several volunteers are needed to make this tent work smoothly for the participants to enjoy.
Sandy K will be looking volunteers in the very near future so be ready to sign up for a two hour slot!
