Third Thursday Social Event

Our Third Thursday social event will be October 15th at 5:30 PM at Nick and Jake's.  Join us at this iconic Parkville venue.  Please invite family and friends!

Volunteer with Us Thursday!

Our next day to help at the food pantry is Thursday October 15.  We will be unloading the Harvesters truck and then stocking shelves.  The truck arrives around 7:30 AM.  We should be done in about and hour.

SPEAC is located in the lowest level of Parkville Presbyterian Church, Highway 9 entrance.  Please park on the east side of the parking lot (facing the Park U fields), to give the truck plenty of room to pull up alongside the building.

Come join a happy group of volunteers and help make a difference in our community!  Friends and family, of all ages, are welcome.

If questions, call or email Steve Bleish at 816-868-6697 or drsvbleish@aol.com.

Parkville Rotary Plaza Status Update

A lot has happened this week as you can see. The final pour of the concrete flooring in the center of the Plaza is now complete, and the construction of the pedestal that will hold the Rotary Clock has begun. The Rotary clock is scheduled to be relocated to the site later this week, weather permitting. The Pedestal exterior itself will be made of stone, but the concrete in the attached photo supports the clock, and it's electrical work.

In addition to more landscaping being installed this week and grading continuing in the area, the laser light system is being installed. A photo included with this summary shows the laser heads going in near some mature trees that are adjacent to the Plaza (a laser emitting head is in the lower right of the photo, one of several in the image). The Plaza can be lit in many colors as desired for different events or times of the year.

Completion is estimated 10-31-26, other than the signage, which is in process.

Boo Ball - Rotary Club of Lee's Summit

Greetings Rotarians,

As you plan your fun fall activities, you'll want to be sure to include Lee's Summit's newest signature event - a Halloween-themed costume party at Green Street on Friday, October 30. If you made it to LS for any of the Futbol Friday watch parties, you already know what an electric venue Green Street is, and with it decorated spooktacularly for Boo Ball, it's going to be an epic evening!!

We chose downtown for our location intentionally, as our club and our sister club have been committed to our community for decades. Our mission of service above self plays out as we tend the Rotary garden close to the train tracks, conduct quarterly street cleanups in the downtown corridor, and host our happy hours at downtown establishments. In short, we LOVE our downtown community. So please, get your tickets, come spend some time in our charming downtown district and then party the night away with us at Green Street!!

Get your TICKETS HERE, and if you're interested in sponsoring, we'd love to include you that way as well (please use the contact information below). We hope you'll join us to eat, drink and be scary!!
