The 1 Hour Plan for Growth
Dec 08, 2023 12:00 PM
Scott Walterbach will be leading our meeting based on principles by Joe Calhoon. To find out more about Joe Calhoon please visit his website Joe Calhoon - EOS Worldwide. Scott has given us items to think about and to jot down for our December 8th meeting (during our regularly scheduled meeting time at noon) as we cover this and more with the whole club included. If you were unable to attend here is the homework for us to work on. What are we doing and why are we doing it? Decide: Who are we? What is our Vision? What is our Mission? What are our Values? The above is to be specific for Parkville Rotary. For inspiration, please review our website What is Rotary? | Rotary Club of Parkville (parkvillerotary.org) and Guid |

he Parkville Rotary Club is signed up to volunteer at the Salvation Army Kettle Ringing on December 9th, from 4-6:30 at the Hyvee at 5330 NW 64th St. Kansas City 64151.
This is a great cause and we hope to see you. We will have a sign-up sheet for 45 minute shifts - if you can't stay for the entire time. Please be on the lookout for the sign-up sheet in a future email/at our club meetings. What Happens When You RingEach year, The Salvation Army will serve more than 25 million people across America – including many here in your community. That means 55+ million meals for the hungry, 10+ million nights of shelter for the homeless, and countless Christmas gifts for children who may otherwise go without. So truly, you can make a difference with every ring. The funds you raise as a Salvation Army bell ringer will make a year-round impact in your community through social services assistance, homeless shelters, disaster relief, children’s programs, rehabilitation services, anti-human trafficking, and more. Donations in the red kettle stay local – directly impacting the lives of your neighbors by helping them in their time of need. When you ring the bell, you’re making change happen.

Daughters of the Revolution
Dec 15, 2023 12:00 PM
WHITE ALLOE CHAPTER, NSDAR, CHAPTER HISTORYThe White Alloe Chapter, NSDAR, was organized in Parkville, Missouri, on March 26, 1957, with twelve organizing members. The name White Alloe was chosen for its historic value to the city of Parkville. In pioneer days a French fur trapper, Claude Pierre Alloe, spent his winters in a dugout at the mouth of a small branch that flowed into the Missouri River. Local lore has it that Chief Narva led the area Detroit Indian Tribe. Alloe fell in love with and married Narva’s daughter, Morning Star. Because of Alloe’s fair complexion, he was renamed “White Alloe," as was the branch where he resided. This small body of water was later to become the dividing line between the town proper and the Park University campus. The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution is a nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education, and patriotism. Today over ONE MILLION women have committed to the mission. Any woman 18 years or older, regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a Patriot of the American Revolutionary War is eligible to join. |
